The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Edmonton-based Prairie Catering, who is now the exclusive provider of food service, events and facility booking at the AGA.
The AGA has stunning spaces for weddings and corporate events of all sizes. Once pandemic restrictions are lifted, Prairie Catering anticipates a trend of weeknight weddings and events as a backlog of postponed events quickly fills up conventional weekend dates.
“The AGA is an award-winning venue that requires a team of Event and Catering professionals to manage events in our architecturally unique and dynamic building,” says Catherine Crowston, Executive Director and Chief Curator at the AGA. “We are very excited to welcome Prairie Catering to the AGA.”
Prairie Catering has plans to utilize some of the space for food pop-ups and to incubate chef-driven hospitality concepts.
“Our goal with the new space is to inspire and usher in a new wave of hospitality concepts in Edmonton,” says Jimmy Shewchuk, owner of Prairie Catering. “Considering the disruption throughout the pandemic to the hospitality industry, I believe we have a unique opportunity for new ideas to emerge as we experience yet another hospitality renaissance.”
Prairie Catering has over 17 years of experience in catering and restaurant management in Edmonton. The food is entirely made from scratch, with a focus on incorporating locally-sourced ingredients. Their diverse cuisine options reflect Alberta’s rich history of cultural and culinary diversity.
