Giving gifts that leave a legacy

A planned gift may be the perfect way for you to meet your financial goals and at the same time make a significant commitment to the AGA and our shared community. Your support contributes to the success of the Gallery, from our diverse exhibitions to engaging programs for all ages, and helps ensure a strong foundation for the future.

There are many options for planned gifts in Canada including: bequests, securities and mutual funds, as well as life insurance policies. We recommend consulting with your financial advisor, your accountant or your estate lawyer to determine which planned gift option best suits your financial plan and provides you with the most beneficial tax savings.

For more information on making a planned gift to the AGA, please contact Barbara Keir, Donor Services Liaison, at 780.392.2465 or barbara.keir@youraga.ca

Donating artworks

The Art Gallery of Alberta operates within a set of standardized procedures with regard to collection acquisitions. Donation proposals must be approved by a Collections Committee and our Board of Directors who carefully review all offers. Their decisions to recommend works for acquisition are based on the historical importance of the artist and/or work, the relevance to the community, contribution to Gallery’s overall collecting objectives/mandate, the current condition of the work, as well as any special conservation and/or storage requirements.

If you are interested in donating to the AGA please send all relevant information about the work(s), including artist name and C.V, title, date, medium, and dimensions, as well as an image(s) to collections@youraga.ca. Once the proposal is reviewed we will inform you of their decision to present it to the Committee and Board. Please note, this process may take several months.
