The AGA is a space of continuous interaction between the global and the local, where visitors learn about the diverse cultural makeup of our province and its artists, and simultaneously access the world. As Alberta’s only museum solely dedicated to the presentation and preservation of art and visual culture, and one of its oldest institutions, we are proud to represent our province on the international stage and to facilitate the exposure of Albertans to art beyond our borders.
To celebrate both the Albertan and the international artists found in our permanent collection, we have once again asked some of our friends across Alberta to share their stories about the works in the AGA Collection that move them.
As a non-governmental charitable organization the AGA receives a significant portion of our funding through the generous support of public and private sponsors, donors, patrons and members. Our mission of connecting all of Alberta’s peoples to new ideas and perspectives, through our dynamic exhibitions, collections and education programs, would truly not be possible without the support of our community.
