Silakut: Live from the Floe Edge

From May 9-November 24, 2019 the official Canadian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale of Contemporary Art will feature the work of the Inuit film and media collective ISUMA.

As part of their presentation, over the course of the summer ISUMA will be producing Silakut, a series of live webcasts from the Canadian Arctic, that will take viewers to the edge of the spring sea ice in Foxe Basin off Baffin Island, into the lives and stories of Inuit elders, and to the site of government hearings about the proposed Mary River mine development.

The AGA will screen these live events as they occur and is also presenting the film that Isuma is premiering in Venice in an exhibition opening on September 8, 2019.

These webcasts will also be available online at isuma.tv/live.
