Amy Loewan

Amy Loewan received her Master of Fine Arts degree in Painting from the University of Alberta and is a member of the Royal Canadian Academy of Arts. She was inducted into the City of Edmonton Salute to Excellence Arts and Culture Hall of Fame. Loewan is celebrated for her dedication to creating artwork to promote peace and understanding. She has an extensive exhibition history of over 100 shows and her work has been shown across Canada from Quebec to Yukon and B.C. as well as beyond borders to New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Melbourne. Loewan has received numerous awards and honours, including The Canadian Artists and Producers Professional Relations Tribunal Award for Excellence in the Arts commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Her large rice paper weaving installation A Peace Project has been designated as a Cultural Property of Canada. Amy is a compassionate art educator, have involved in many community projects and was an instructor for the University of Alberta, Faculty of Extension, Fine Arts Certificate program.
