Warm up the start of your weekend with live music, tapas and drinks at the Art Gallery of Alberta. On April 20, come enjoy live music from Darren Frank with Bart. 

Create stories, characters and settings working with professional illustrator Roger Garcia.  Would you create a super hero? A super villain? Learn about storyboards and develop your ideas into action. Translate your stories into different media and explore how your art changes. Create a short animated film and watch your characters come to life.

Imagine yourself on another planet or exploring a new galaxy. Visits to our current exhibitions take you to the sun, moon and stars! Explore different themes each week and use all of your senses. Create art works with your new perspectives and imagination using a variety of media and techniques.

Have a project you want to finish? How about something you want to start making? Or maybe you just want to tinker with some new 2dimensional mediums or techniques? Come make use of our open studio & array of resources to create whatever’s been stuck in your head.

Take a closer look at the natural world around you! Gloria Mok’s exhibition, Metamorphosis, explores ideas found in science and medicine. Get inspired by Mok’s process and head over to the studio to create your own watercolour sketches using various techniques.
