The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Art-as-Idea, 13 yrs +

We are thrilled to welcome youth back in person! With a maximum of 8 students per class, we look forward to connecting at a safe distance and by abiding by protocol! Masks required.

Make art with your mind! Explore the often-misunderstood realm of conceptual art, where IDEAS shine and the creative process is emphasized. Throughout this six-week session, discover artists who challenge traditional definitions of art, brainstorm and discuss concepts with peers and experiment with a range of materials (or not) to convey or capture your ideas. Deepen your understanding of who you are as an artist and what your next creative steps might be!
