1. Aurelian
Artist: Jennifer Vollmer

Size: 11x14
Inks on paper

2. Giving Back
Artist: Tania Unguran

Size: 18“ x 24“
It is a mixed media piece showing the perspective of how we take nature for granted. We take for granted the fact that everything comes from the earth.

3. Taking a Moment
Artist: Byron McBride

As someone who has dyslexia, I have found it essential to my mental health to take time everyday for Art.  Living with the frustration that accompany this condition can make normal situations and interactions more complicated than they should be. In this painting, I have used purple to highlight the headphones, which cut out the noise and chaos of the world around the young man, and the sketchbook he’s drawing in, allowing him to de-stress and continue with his day.  This mirrors my own habit of taking a few minutes throughout the day to simply draw; even this little thing allows me to refocus myself and deal with everyday before I can go home and work on a painting to fully decompress later.  Art is an indispensable therapeutic tool that can immeasurably benefit those with any form of mental illness, and truly, anyone who needs to take a moment for themselves.
