Mark Iype is the Editor in Chief of the Edmonton Journal and Edmonton Sun, a position he has held since last fall. Prior to that, he was the City Editor at the Journal. Before coming to Edmonton in 2014, Iype was a reporter and editor in both Ottawa and his hometown of St. John, New Brunswick. He came to journalism late, starting only at the age of 30, after spending years travelling and studying international development, living and working in Guatemala, India and New York City. He is married with a nine-year-old son and an English teacher wife embarrassed that he got C’s in High School English.
