Maria has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Printmaking and a minor in Native Studies as well as a Native Artisan diploma. She has worked with children and adults as an art educator and English teacher overseas and here in Edmonton for the past decade. She feels experiencing and being exposed to new ways of looking at the world around us is important for everyone, especially children. As well, learning new ways of expression through the arts can give children a healthy way of expressing themselves and can be very empowering for them. Maria hopes to give children who visit the AGA a positive and enriching experience!

We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.
