Joshua Smith

EDMONTON, AB  |  Joshua Smith is a forester, turned industrial designer, turned perfumer. His switch from forestry into design was rooted in a deeply seeded drive to create. While exploring how shape, form, texture and materials can all carry meaning in the furniture and products all around us, he began to wonder more about scent and its capacity to affect emotion. Growing up, he was not particularly drawn to perfume, but loved experiencing the scents of different landscapes. Combining the passion for design and storytelling through the senses, he began to explore how scents are made and fell down a rabbit hotel to emerge a few years later with Libertine, a small line of scents inspired by landscapes and emotions.

The scents are all unisex, warm and sensual. They were created to inspire moments of enjoyment for the wearer.

The Process.

Our scents are created using high quality essential oils, absolutes and molecules from around the world, blended in hydrating cocunut oil and packaged in our perfume oil roll ons. All of the blending, filtering, bottling, labelling and packaging is done carefully by hand in our small, Edmonton scent studio.
