The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary  land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.

Erinn Evans

SHERWOOD PARK, AB  |  An encaustic artist, Erinn minored in art at the University of Alberta while earning her Bachelor's Degree in Education.

Her own experiences with anxiety and depression have inspired her to create art that uplifts both herself and those who view it. Her artwork often features bold colours and patterns, as well as reflecting her love of nature and animals. Her love of animals has also led her to specialize in pet portraits. Painting with encaustics, which is pigmented melted wax, allows her to incorporate a variety of mediums such as oil pastels and decorative papers to create depth and texture.

She is an Associate Signature member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and has taught Encaustics for the Leduc Arts Foundry, Fort Saskatchewan Society of Artists, Morinville Art Society, and the Paint Spot.
