Brad Fehr is an Alberta-based artist whose work explores masculinities as they are visually constructed in pop history, and as they are constituted now in the Anthropocene. The facets and implications of masculinity as they emerge from personal narratives are the main thrust of his work. Fehr explores this theme across a variety of media, primarily video, painting, and printmaking. He has appeared in galleries and public venues across Edmonton such as Scott Gallery, Latitude 53, and the SHAW Conference centre, in print in SNAPLine and other publications, and in previous NEXTFest exhibitions.
The Art Gallery of Alberta respectfully acknowledges that we are located in Treaty 6 Territory and Region 4 of the Metis Nation of Alberta. We respect this as the traditional and contemporary land of diverse Indigenous Peoples including the Plains Cree, Woodland Cree, Beaver Cree, Nitsitapi/Blackfoot, Métis, Nakota Sioux, Anishinaabe/Saulteaux/Ojibwe and Dene Peoples. We also acknowledge the many Indigenous, Inuit and Métis people who make Alberta their home today.
