Interested in gaining an insider’s perspective on our exhibitions? Treat your group to an enjoyable private tour led by our knowledgeable Interpretive Staff. AGA Private Tours are a unique way to learn about our current exhibitions and can be personalized to meet your groups’ needs.

What type of tours do we offer?

Exhibition Tours
Intrigued by a specific exhibition? Our interactive and informative exhibition tours will help unveil the many layers of artworks on display, provide in-depth background on the lives of artists (old and new), as well as the social and historical context of their work.

Building Tour with Exhibition Highlights
This useful tour for first time visitors includes an introduction to the history and architecture of the Gallery, as well as highlights from current exhibitions.

Tour Lengths

Exhibition Tours are approximately 1 hour. Building Tours with Exhibition Highlights take 60 – 90 minutes, depending on current exhibitions and content requested. Tours are tailored to complement guests’ interests and knowledge levels. After completing your tour, your group may want to explore the exhibitions on their own, visit Shop AGA or grab a bite to eat.

Tour Rates

20 Guests or More
Tour rates are based on Gallery Admission plus an additional Tour Fee of $5 per person. Groups of this size are also eligible for the 25% discount off of Gallery Admission.

Fewer than 20 Guests
Tour rates are based on Gallery Admission plus a flat tour fee of $100.

Post-Secondary Students
The AGA is pleased to offer special pricing for student groups from post-secondary institutions. These tours provide in-depth opportunities for students to connect to artworks in a gallery setting.

$92 for a group up to 10 students
$138 for a group up to 20 students
$184 for a group up to 30 students

Frequently Asked Questions

How far ahead of time should I book my tour?

Due to availability, we encourage guests to book their tours three weeks in advance.

How should I pay for my tour?

We recommend that you pay at the front desk when you arrive for your tour. We can also invoice you directly or process payment on the phone beforehand.

Not all of the Galleries are open during my scheduled tour. Will I receive a discount?

During periods of major exhibition changeovers there is a 25% discount on regular Gallery admission rates. Discounts do not apply to the Tour Fee.

Is there a discount for large groups?

Groups over 20 people will receive a 25% discount off of Gallery admissions. Group discounts do not apply to the Tour Fee.

Is there a minimum number of guests for a tour?

We can accommodate groups large and small, but groups with less than 20 people will be charged a minimum Tour Fee of $100.
