Limited number of public tickets now on sale for this must-attend event!
Edmonton, AB (February 6/14) – The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is thrilled to announce that Megan James from Canada pop-synth duo Purity Ring will give an exclusive piano performance as part of Cloud Nine Refinery late-night art party on February 15, 2014! James will also join former Edmonton Poet Laureate Cadence Weapon as one of the night’s DJs.
A limited number of tickets to this must-attend event have been released to the public and can be purchased in person at AGA Member and Guest Services or online at youraga.ca.
In addition to the performances by Megan James and Cadence Weapon, Cloud Nine Refinery will have guests feeling the love with two interactive art projects, one by Ashley Green of Love Letters 2 Strangers and the other by Ashley Yacyshyn, presented alongside a series of dreamy short film projections by local interdisciplinary artist Mo Ossobleh.
Cloud Nine Refinery is inspired by the elevating elements of your AGA’s popular exhibition Of Heaven and Earth: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums. This exhibition features artworks by some of the greatest names in European art history including Giovanni Bellini, Sandro Botticelli, Titian and more, and vividly traces the achievements in Italian art over five centuries. The AGA is the only Canadian destination for this exhibition. It’s on view until March 9, 2014 and is organized by the American Federation of Art and Glasgow Museums.
Refinery guests are invited to come looking heaven sent in glowing metallics and soft pastels. Visit your AGA’s Pinterest page for more dress inspiration.
