Tickets to this must-attend party on sale to AGA Members today!

Edmonton, AB (January 21/14)The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is pleased to announce that tickets are now on sale to AGA Members for the first Refinery late-night art party of 2014—Cloud Nine Refinery! Remaining tickets, if available, will be on sale to the public on February 4 at 10 am. Tickets and AGA Memberships are available in-person at AGA Member and Guest Services or online at youraga.ca.

Inspired by the elevating elements of the AGA’s popular current exhibition Of Heaven and Earth: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums, Cloud Nine Refinery promises to be a night of dreamy visuals, dynamic music and performances and art projects with heart.

Move to the beats of Megan James of Canadian synth-pop duo Purity Ring. Revel in an alternate reality discotheque created by former Edmonton Poet Laureate Cadence Weapon. Share the love in a collaborative art installation by Ashley Green of Love Letters 2 Strangers, let the light reveal your love fortune in an interactive project by Andrea Yacyshyn and be seduced by short film projections by Edmonton multidisciplinary artist Mo Ossobleh.

There is no formal dress code, but Refinery guests can come looking heaven sent in glowing metallics or ethereal pastels. Your AGA has a Pinterest page for dress inspiration.

Of Heaven and Earth: 500 Years of Italian Painting from Glasgow Museums, organized by the American Federation of Art and Glasgow Museums, features artworks by some of the greatest names in European art history including Giovanni Bellini, Sandro Botticelli, Titian and more, and vividly traces the achievements in Italian art over five centuries. ABOUT REFINERY LATE-NIGHT ART PARTIES
Refinery is one of Alberta’s must-attend events, hosting a sold-out crowd of 800+ people at each party. Thousands of guests have taken part in this series. Parties are often themed around current AGA exhibitions and feature projects by artists, designers and performers from the local arts community. Refinery aims to provide audiences with access to art in its many diverse forms, media and manifestations. Refinery is not an AGA fundraising event but one of the unique ways the Art Gallery of Alberta connects people, art and ideas.

ABOUT THE ART GALLERY OF ALBERTA
The Art Gallery of Alberta is a centre of excellence for the visual arts in Western Canada, connecting people, art and ideas. The AGA is focused on the development and presentation of original exhibitions of contemporary and historical art from Alberta, Canada and around the world. The AGA also offers a full-range of art education and public programs. Founded in 1924, the Art Gallery of Alberta maintains a collection of more than 6,000 objects and is the oldest cultural institution in Alberta. It is the only museum in the province solely dedicated to the exhibition and preservation of art and visual culture.

The Art Gallery of Alberta is a not-for-profit organization that relies on the support of its Members, donors, sponsors and government. The AGA is grateful for the generous support of the many public and private donors and sponsors who have made the AGA’s New Vision possible, as well as the ongoing support of the City of Edmonton, the Edmonton Arts Council, the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Canada Council for the Arts and our Members.
