A closing look at Season to Season, Coast to Coast: A Celebration of Canada’s Landscape
Written by Lynda Vang
“It’s Canada. It’s an expression of my country and who I am and what I love about this country. I’ve visited the show four times now. It’s absolutely beautiful. ” – Robin, visitor
As Season to Season, Coast to Coast: A Celebration of Canada’s Landscape ends its run, visitors packed the exhibition space to see familiar Canadian landscapes one last time. Showcasing some jewels from the AGA collection including work from Emily Carr, Cornelius Krieghoff and Lawren Harris, Season to Season was a favourite among visitors and a timely celebration of Canada during the nation’s sesquicentennial year.
Season to Season, Coast to Coast: A Celebration of Canadian Landscape the exhibition included landscapes that resonated, even if you had never been there: Driving through snowy prairies, puddles in potholes, Peggy’s Cove—familiar, yet new, and quintessentially Canadian.
Season to Season, Coast to Coast: A Celebration of Canadian Landscape was organized by the Art Gallery of Alberta. Curated by Laura Ritchie. Presented by Capital Powered Art, an exhibition series sponsored by Capital Power Corporation. Very special thanks to Capital Power for its ongoing commitment to the AGA.
