Photographing the Rockies: Byron Harmon and the Columbia Icefields
In 1924, photographer Byron Harmon set out on a large expedition to photograph the Columbia Icefields. Equipped with a motion-picture camera and multiple still cameras, Harmon brought back images for a public desiring sights of this rugged terrain. In this Art for Lunch, learn more about Harmon’s daunting trek and the legacy of his photography in the early years of tourism in the Canadian Rockies.
