Ukiy0-e: Visions of the Floating World
A new form of art emerged in the Edo period known as Ukiyo-e. Unlike “high art” that was geared towards the elite,Ukioy-e prints depicted scenes from theatre, daily life and the red light district. These prints became highly sought after by the growing merchant class whose lifestyles they reflected. Join us at Art for Lunch as we take a look at this new form of prints produced in the Edo Period.
