AGA seeks Superstar for upcoming Warhol-inspired Refinery Factory Party

EDMONTON, AB – In anticipation of the upcoming Refinery Factory Party, the Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is launching the Superstars Wanted contest. Fans of the AGA’s Facebook page that are 18 years or older can enter to become the AGA’s Refinery Superstar for the night by submitting a photo of them based on Andy Warhol’s Screen Tests. The entry with the most votes (‘likes’) will receive four tickets and a limo ride to the party, where he or she will be recognized as the Refinery Superstar. EDMONTON, AB – The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is proud to present National Spirit: The Haunting of Art in Canada on Thursday, May 19 at 8 pm. This public lecture by University of British Columbia Professor Charlotte Townsend-Gault will examine the proliferation of First Nations imagery in Canadian popular culture by looking at the connections between three current AGA exhibitions.

EDMONTON, AB – The Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) is proud to announce a three-year partnership between the AGA and Enbridge Pipelines Inc. that will facilitate the creation and presentation of contemporary and modern art exhibitions at the AGA. The partnership launches with the exhibition ANDY WARHOL: Manufactured, which will kick off the AGA’s summer season on May 28, 2011. This exhibition of Warhol’s work is the largest ever to show in Edmonton, and the AGA is the only Canadian venue for its presentation.
